As you can imagine I’ve been super paranoid about my hearing/ears since my mental health crisis back in May when I had a tinnitus worsening due to chemo, I never want to go back to that as long as I live.
I was playing Final Fantasy XIV Online with some friends and randomly one of the people in the call ( not intending to cause harm) didn’t know how loud a sound board was and played audio of an air horn….it blared right in my ears and caused a very brief spike.
They apologised profusely and I accepted it but yeah, that was pretty scary for a moment.

sounds like you dealt with it well. Do you actually feel ok? Are you sharing because it’s actually affected you quite a bit or are you sharing from a perspective of a setback that you’ve been able to come back from pretty quickly?
Oh that gives me hope then. Sorry I didn’t mean to come off as prying just I know how distressing tinnitus can feel at times. I think because I’ve been in that sort of mindset myself lately it sort of makes me more aware how others can be feeling, when you’d said it was scary it reminded me of a big spike I had and I didn’t think I could live another hour with it let alone a lifetime. So when I hear people rebound quickly it does give me that hope that perhaps I’ll get there myself some day soon 🙏🏼
