Hey gang.

Relatively short story - Got *mild* T back in July 2022, quite soon after (weeks) my ears began feeling full, slight burning sensation, and high pitched noise (plates hitting, cutlery, keys rattling) didn't feel great.

Fast forward to now and the T stayed the same however over the last couple of days, my ears started feeling achey/burning and slightly full again.

Is it normal for there to be set backs or reoccurrence after the H seemingly went away?

It isn't actually individual sounds which seem to hurt. But the burning/pain increases when I'm in a moderately round environment.

I haven't had any noticeable noise traumas recently and have previously been to loud bars etc with no more flare ups or changes to my T or H so its weird.

My hope is that it's only a flare up and will go away again in a week or two like it did the last time.

I'm quite scared as I've read horror stories of people who have continually gotten worse and are now housebound.

Hi Chester’s 12, Sorry to hear you are suffering, I too have burning and painful ears along with roaring in both ears, high pitch and a car horn sound going off in in my right ear which has kept me awake all week, so I know what you are going through, I have had this before usually when stressed, which I am at the moment as trying to move but it usually goes away after a while, might be a good idea to have your ears looked at in case of infection, I also have hyperacusis which sometimes goes but then comes back so I think the burning and painful ears is sort of telling me I have been exposed to a lot of noise or stress.I know it’s hard but try and keep busy and go for walks if you can, I’m sure it will ease off soon,

Take care

Hi Yoga62.

Thank you for the message, It soothes me to know it is probably just a flare up and I won't be in permanent pain.

Today, it feels somewhat slightly better, although only just.

I'm off on holiday with my family now in a quiet part of the country so hopefully by a couple of days, it will have subsided.

I can deal with my mild T but the burning pain is truly exhausting and depressing.

cheers!
