yes its awful to have loud tinnitus - It does improve for most people with time. Ihave had tinnitus for more than 1 year and got louder after MRI scan in April - it is improving at times but I have to be careful with loud noise , as this can make it worse for me

You have to keep Hope that it will improve - and use the tinnitus management techniques

how long have u had tinnitus ?

Yes, Mathew. It's an awful thought - but that's all it is. A thought.

You have no more evidence for your tinnitus being permanently loud than you do for it improving, yet we tend to hold onto ideas about the condition which are mainly driven by fear.

Why don't you have the same level of expectation that your tinnitus might improve?

Some BTA staff do have tinnitus, others don't or have family and friends who do. I think that's true of more or less any charity or voluntary organisation that you might be in contact with.

I couldn't want for a more supportive and invested group of colleagues to work with - they are every bit as passionate in working on behalf of the tinnitus community in the UK, regardless of whether they live with the condition or not.
