yes - my tinnitus started after head bump at back of head and some mild concussion - the day after i connected up some new bose speakers and these were placed on shelf just above computer ( and too close to my head) - and then the tinnitus was triggered . sudden onset severe , buzzing for months . After a 40min MRI scan ( for spine issues) in April the sounds changed and it is now both sides hissing , with soild tones .I am becoming more distressed about it

Hello i listen to rain hitting a window and i have been ok with that in fact i can not sleep at night with out it but if i listen to the radio that seems to irritate me some sounds are ok some are not i was offered a mri scan but turned it down because of the noise i had a mri scan on my back 25 years ago before i had tinnitus and i remember how loud it was so it has put me off having one i did have a ct scan which showed nothing up.

yes, very wise to turn down the MRI - i has short ENT MRI scan in Sept 21 and was ok after this - then had a 40 min MRI spine scan in April and the T became much worse after this.. Was yr CT scan for ENT instead of the MRI

Yes it was instead of the mri scan i know the mri scans show things up better but ct scans are also very good and no noise

I agree John. I chose CT over MRI . The noise factor is too big a risk for me. A quiet MRI scanner is now available in the US so I expect it will reach these shores eventually. You can listen to the difference on You tube.

Hello my friend i heard about these quieter MRI scans a few years ago it all comes down to money again, iv heard they are very expensive it would be nice to have a few in this country but you are right i think we will get them eventually.

I wish i had known this before the scan in April - anyway i do now andshall opt for CT if i need to in future
