Little peace: my tinnitus start nearly 8 weeks... - Tinnitus UK
Little peace
hi - are u taking any meds? can u sleep through the Tinnitus - daytime tiredness can make the T worse. This is the place where u will find people to support u with advice and understanding. The GP's and medical people seem to have a standard ( and sometimes limited ) approach to T which doesnt suit everyone
I would cut out coffee and drinks with caffeine as this makes the tinnitus worse - I drink de-caffeinated tea and de-caf coffee and de-caf green tea / best to avoid alcohol as well/ SALT - try too cut salt out totally when cooking and buy low salt foods , the salt content should be shown on the food packs - Salt is a BIG problem to me as it pushes up my Tinnitus.
And Yes - life before and after T is very different - there are many things i did before that i cant do now , but I may be able to eventually
how did u lose yr hearing Sun?? what amount of hearing loss do u have?
Suddenly everything tinnitus and hearing lost same time start middle of night.my right ear but left ear also from my childhood. right one was good.
Were you treated for sudden hearing loss? In the States steroids, high dose pills or steroid injections into the ear have been found to successfully reverse it.
I went emergency that day. doctors give me some medicine for vertigo because same time I feel dizziness and vomit nothing else. my vertigo now settled. my tinnitus is too loud now also I heard some music sounds.
No coffee, no caffeine, no carbohydrates. I never smoke or drink alcohol in my life and cut out sugar . I do dry fasting some days, 16 18 hours but nooooo improvement.
Everyone has to find their own way. For me, cutting out or down on sugar caffeine salt alcohol carbs has no effect whatsoever.Lots of research has been done over th years and more needs to be done - but someone has to find the money to finance the research. I keep banging the drum for the British Tinnitus Association, partly because they fund research.
