So today my right ear suddenly felt like it was full for a few seconds but it went back to normal. My tinnitus also increased from baseline but it's getting better I think. Can't visit an ENT because the only one in town has gone home for the day. Has this happened to you before and is it something normal?

Sudden ear fulness that lasts a few seconds and a tinnitus spike. Has this happened to you?
Hi ShrewdMushroom,
I get this on a regular basis and sometimes it lasts seconds or a few minutes. I don't tend to worry about it, as it goes away. I think if the symptoms were to last, then I'd probably go and see my GP and take it from there. Sorry I'm not much help, but just making you aware you're not alone in this. Everyone experiences T differently and it can do the most strangest things...It has a mind of It's own!
I am really happy to hear that I am not alone! I wa worried it was SSNHL but this put me at ease.
If it carries on and starts to bother you, then make an appointment with your GP. Like I said previously, It doesn't tend to bother me as my hearing goes back to normal every time. It's just an annoyance if anything else. My T spikes during the day on a regular basis, so I'm used to all kinds of crap it throws at me. It's getting louder whilst I'm typing this, but that's probably because it has my full attention at the moment.
All the best
Hi Shrewd Mushroom,
Rest assured that Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss isn't something which happens for seconds at a time. If you did had that condition, it would be pretty evident.
I think a tinnitus spike of this nature is not something to be too attentive towards - tinnitus generally wants your attention and doesn't usually give you anything back other than an irritating noise. It is, in some respects, quite like a new Ed Sheeran record in that regard 😉
I hope you have a restful and relaxed weekend.
Like MOLK, it’s just part of my general perception of T. It wasn’t till I read your post that I even realised it was a normal part of my life!
I’ve had T since my mid or late teens - 60 years ago!
I also get this regularly, sometime three times a day. It’s usually followed by an immediate adrenaline spike of fear, so I calm my breathing and wait it out. It can last up to an hour but it always returns tonite spike pitch. Forty years into T, I was diagnosed with Eustachian tube disorder so I believe the two are connected.
So do I. Think my problems are mostly caused by noise damage but had a sore throat, sinuses, left ear, 2 weeks before seeing band which did the damage. Only developed tinnitus in that ear. Think 2 things combined caused it.Though tinnitus is probably a separate issue now still have on/off fullness in that ear.
