I have recieved a email from Cleanhearing regarding the Sono device for helping in the treatment of Tinnitus, it uses gentle electromagnetic stimulation through headphones recommended twice a day for 20 minutes.

The device is available to buy for £2,000 or you can rent monthly for £117 for a 6 month period.

As anyone used this device before or any thoughts about it.

Thanks and a Merry Christmas to Everyone

Hi bantams. I haven’t myself tried it, and I looked on the British tinnitus Association website to see if they have looked at this but couldn’t find it there - they publish a list of about fifty possible therapies with their recommendations. Why not phone or email them for advice?

Thanks for your reply Happyrosie, will try to contact them today. I forgot to say that I have a 15% discount code which would reduce the rental price for 2 months to £280.Also if you buy they offer a 60% refund if not happy with the product upto 4 months from purchase.

Hmm. There are no known “cures” for T as you already know. This seems to be a crazy amount of money to “help” tinnitus. I’d have said myself that practicing controlled breathing would be a cheaper option. Anyway if you decide to go ahead please post on here

I would think twice before you rush into buying this device . It seems awfully expensive and there’s a lot of people out there looking to make a few Bob . I hate the thought of someone craftily making money out of our suffering . They know we are vulnerable . They know we might pay anything to help get rid of tinnitus . You can’t beat a good bit of background music to gently soothe away your troubles. 😊

A number of devices - the Lenire unit from Neuromod, the NeoSensory Buzz and now the CleanHearing Sono - are using bimodal stimulus principles to deliver tinnitus therapy. Each has its own merits, although the NeoSensory device is not currently available outside the US, which limits its relevance in a mostly UK-based forum. Dr Susan Shore's team at the University of Michigan have devised a device which works along similar principles - medicine.umich.edu/dept/khr...

The company's website lists a number of clinical studies exploring the basic ideas behind the type of therapy that they propose - cleanhearing.com/clinical-s... - which is not the same as an endorsement that this approach will work for everyone.
