Hi

Has anybody had really bad catarrh and then developed tinnitus.

I had my ear syringed due to sinus and catarrh and four days later the ringing started

Hello Oldham. Yes the T might be due to this - or it might not. The strategy to get habituated to the T is the same regardless of the possible cause, though.Have a look at the website of the British tinnitus Association and if you e got further queries do get back to us on this forum,

Hi ,You could try inhaling steam from a Pyrex bowl, towel over your head etc. Very good for clearing out sinuses . Some people say syringing triggers the tinnitus, whatever you do try and keep calm , go for walks outside, clear your head with good fresh air . You will be fine. Just relax and your be ok soon . It takes some time to adjust but keep positive .

Yes, the same happened to me. I had my ears suringed due to lot of Ear vax. I had the same day an Inner Ear infection and a cold. During night time I woke up with Ear pain and the next morning I woke up with tinnitus and blocked ears. The symptoms the same after 5 years. I am pretty sure that it was the syringe that made the tinnitus start due to the infection. Bad timing ! Before this incidens I have never had any problems with my ears.
