Hearing aid relief

As a long time tinnitus sufferer from age 30 to 72 and always on forums etc, searching for relief from the constant buzzing especially at bed time I have finally found the answer. The constant buzzing has made my left ear completely deaf but have always resisted hearing aids to help, having my ears cleaned out every 6 months or so and not wearing one for probably various reasons ( vanity, making me uncomfortable ). In the end I decided to wear one and kept it in all night, I now have no buzzing whatsoever at bed time and of a day take the aid out a few hours at a time so as not to make my ear hurt. You can only lie on one side and on your back at bedtime but believe me the relief from the loud constant buzzing is well worth it, putting cotton wool in your ear doesn’t work, or any other method, believe me I,ve tried them all; hope this helps

Thank you, 2468954, for this.Personally I’ve found hearing aids helpful in that the real world is more loud, therefore the T less instructive,

I don’t wear the aids at night as I’m habituated to the ‘night noise’ but don’t do without them during the day.

It’s wise to have the aids out of the ears some of the time to let fresh air get to the inner ear.

I have really loud noise at night for last 6 weeks so cant sleep - so a new sufferer. I was suprised to hear you can keep a hearing aid in all night and still sleep ok. Is this just a normal hearing aid or one that is customised to your T frequency?. I can manage just with the noise in the day - but not at night in bed or first thing in a morning. I am using sleeping aid pills - but I need a more natural solution medium term. I would be really interested in your response - if you can.
