Hello Raneen and welcome back.We all have different experiences of T.
In my case, I’ve had it since I was a teenager, almost sixty years ago. It hasn’t got any worse EXCEPT when I’m stressed. So I try not to get stressed! I concentrate on breathing exercises. You can get some good ones via the British tinnitus Association website.
Your T might well fade away or at least fade into the background as time goes on. There’s no way to tell in advance as far as I know. So try to keep your anxiety under control (easy for me to say, much more difficult in practice) with relaxation techniques
The thing is Ranseen I think people are just being honest with how their situation is, some people are lucky with tinnitus and some people are not. It is as it is. My tinnitus appears to have got worse over the last 3 months . I’m just being honest about my situation. It could have gone the other way and be better, I’m not telling the truth if I say it’s better. I hope you understand that this forum is not judging anybody but helping people find the truth. It’s a nasty condition this t , nobody can deny it.Good luck
Hi Raneen. Keep in mind that those of us on the BTA forum are a very small percentage of the wider tinnitus community. The majority of people out there with tinnitus aren't suffering to quite the same extent. . I believe 15 % of people have tinnitus. Only half of those consult a doctor and as little as 1-2% are distressed by the condition. People - including me - come here for a listening ear in their hour of need. So it may seem that everyone with tinnitus is having a tough time but the reality is they're not 🙂
I agree with the above - many many people with T are happily coping and getting on with their lives, they won’t even be looking at Tinnitus forums and probably never will.
They won’t be posting “everything is great I’m having a great time my T is not bothering me at all”
Sadly it’s only the people that are suffering or who are looking for support who post which of course comes across as very negative, I would imagine those posters on here are very much in minority of long-term tinnitus are sufferers.
Hi Raneen , I totally understand what your saying , I’ve come Off sites now , as have read things that has made me more anxious and worried . rather than feel Better knowing I’mNot alone , I then start thinking omg what if this happens to me . I do occasionally look on here , but my audiologist said last week as my tinitus is 24/7 and pulsating not my heart beat through , in my case just think it’s a muscle that has closed so I can probably hear the blood going through my body , where others don’t hear that as the muscle works properly .. when I’m anxious I just trying and think back to what she said . I can forget during the day the noise but not all the time . I’m just thinking everyone’s different so what happens to someone might not happen to me and just get on with my day to day life x
