I had my ears vacuum syringed at my doctors surgery a few weeks ago. My GP gave me a prescription for Exterol to use going forward to keep the ears clear (or so I thought). I have read the patient information, but, I am concerned that this medicine is not for long term use.

Appreciate your thoughts on the use of the medication on a longer term basis.

The medication advice which I've looked at suggests that this product shouldn't be used if the patient is experiencing tinnitus - medicines.org.uk/emc/produc...

On that basis, I think it is worth asking your GP for their opinion on whether this treatment is suitable for you.

Thank you. I shall not be using this. Going back to olive oil.
