Acupuncture as a treatment

Hi this is my first post in this forum,

i have had mild tinnitus for a number of years from playing bass guitar for over 40 years, and predominantly in my right ear.

I have been working from home for more than a year now and having daily zoom meetings for which i have to use headphones as my wife also works from home next to me. Since January I have noticed the tinnitus getting stronger and now my left ear has a constant ringing louder than the left. I can wake in the night and still hear it, if i am distracted it fades slightly but it is now pretty constant.

Has anyone tried acupuncture as a treatment and if so how much success have you had in reducing the level of the tinnitus?

No I haven’t but I have heard others say that acupuncture doesn’t help tinnitus, but you could give it a try, nothing to lose.Good luck

Hello, I've had T for nearly 6 months now. It started the same time as muscular issues with my jaw. I've recently started having acupuncture for the muscle issues and it's really helped (only had two sessions so far) but no change in the T.

I've had acupuncture (Chinese variety) and I thought it was wonderful. Very relaxing and calming. Didn't do a da*n thing for the tinnitus though!

Very rewarding if feeling anxious. Anxiety can definitely make T worse, so perhaps worth a shot on that basis when the T gets a bit much?

I have had Japanese acupuncture (much bigger needles) on my wrist, shoulder and ankle, that helped a lot

I am going for a 4th of 6 visits using traditional accupuncture. I was told that it was related to my kidneys. I believe I saw a benefit the first few visits but not so much the last time. From what I have been told it is hit or miss. My advice is give it a few chances and by visit 3/4 if you don't see any benefit then no point to continue. The "kidney" issue is the hardest to fix so I am giving it a few more chances before I give up. Chances are it won't do much but it really can't hurt other than waste your money.
