In November I had an ear infection, followed by inflammation of my ears and then ear wax removal, this took until January and I am still stuck with tinnitus, every now and again I can’t hear it at all but it’s only for a few hours and then is back in the morning. I went to an ENT specialist and they said there is nothing wrong with my ears, no fluid, no hearing loss nothing. My own doctor thinks my tinnitus will go but the ENT said they couldn’t say and gave me a tinnitus pack. I’m only 21 and what I want to know is, has anybody else experienced this? Has it gone? Do you think it will go?

Hello Sophie, I’mSorry your suffering , I don’t really think anyone on here is going to be able to answer you if it will go or not. Try and relax , your very young I’m sure because your young it’s hopeful .
Hi
So sorry to hear of your experience.
I have had a similar experience. I have suffered with anxiety for a number of years. The conclusion is that my Tinnitus is a result of anxiety and stress rather than any hearing problems. I’m working on relaxation and CBT with the hope that it will enable me to manage my Tinnitus more effectively.
My hope is to be able to live and habituate to tinnitus as for most people it doesn’t go away.
Acceptance is the key to recovery.
It's difficult to say. no one here will have your medical notes. Did you have an MRI scan? The ENT will have sent you for an MRI if they couldn't be sure or needed to rule anything out that could be causing your tinnitus. If they didn't send you, don't worry. They could probably be sure your ear infection and/or wax removal may has caused your tinnitus. As you are young your doctor could be right.
I'm sure someone may have experienced something similar. Although take advice (even my advice as I'm not a health professional) at face value. If you are worried get it verified by your doctor or an audiologist.
All the best.
Hiya hun, the fact that there are times you cannot hear it is a great sign. This is still very new to you & it’s not a very pleasant thing, so it’s going to be the biggest thing right now. It WILL GET BETTER 😍 The first hurdle is acceptance like Barnabas has said...you will get there & one day in the “ not too distant” future it won’t effect you at all. You will either naturally filter it out or you may be one of the lucky ones & it will get better until it has gone. Either way it will improve & I wish you the all the luck in the world xX
Hi,I also have tinnitus with no hearing loss. Infact my hearing loss was within the perfect parameters. However, i do have anxiety and OCD which is not going to help with tinnitus or it makes it worse. I do also think mine is cause throught that. I use CBT techniques and mindfulness to enable me to cope better. x
