A few years ago (long before I developed tinnitus) I tried CBT for childhood trauma/PTSD. At the time it didn't work because I wasn't in the right frame of mind. Having said that, I was able to rationalise the reasons why it wasn't working - so one could argue that it did have positive effects. I gave it up after a few weeks; I knew I wasn't ready.

However, long term (years later) I am able to reframe situations, including acceptance and especially when I have bad days with Tinnitus.
