I have just bought a book called Breath by James Nestor, which has some very useful information. Towards the end of the book he includes some breathing techniques. I am sharing because this book has helped me. My tinnitus has diminished quite a bit in a very short space of time using some of these techniques. I am not saying it will work for everybody, but there might be something here that would help someone else. It is also a good read about a very interesting subject, something we that all do and take for granted, but probably none of us do it properly.....Anyway, I hope it helps.

Thanks for posting. I have found that meditation with a focus on the breath can sometimes reduce my tinnitus, even if only temporarily.

Thanks I find this very interesting

I found that breathing excercises worked at night as part kf a mindfulness regime, just to break the anxiety stress tinnitus loop.

I will look this up

Did this help you at all times and how often please?

I have tried various different breathing techniques, some are included in this book, but the thing that helped me (and I know it sounds daft, but you'll try anything right?) It was something called nose songs, which basically is humming to yourself. It says this in the book: "Nose Songs...........Breathe normally through the nose and hum any song or sound, practice for at least five minutes a day".

I was humming all day long like a demented bee! Anyway I am only sharing this because it helped me and I thought it might help someone else.

I highly recommend this book, not only for the exercises etc, but it is also a really interesting and informative read.
