Wish me luck, please.

So, my last dose of Clonazepam was June 15th. I have been taking it since August 8th, 2019 on an as needed basis. This has worked very well for me.

I did make another post explaining my experience with the drug and asking for opinions. The feedback was positive and I would like to thank those who took the time to respond. I appreciate you all.

My prescription is due for a refill. I will not be doing this, however.

I have new strategies and coping techniques that I will be using going forward. Tinnitus is here to stay, of this I am certain. I am not so sure that Clonazepam can accompany me any longer.

I will give it my best shot. My dosage was low and I am not experiencing any concerning withdrawal symptoms, other than missing the calming effect.

I’m so glad you’ve found coping strategies and are not reliant on prescription drugs to help you - I’m sure that’s the right thing if you can cope.

T is a horrible thing but we need to realise that it isn’t in charge of our lives. WE are in charge of our lives (insofar as COVID let’s us!).

Well done and keep in touch!

Thank-you, Happyrosie.

I am managing to cope, so far, and you are correct, it is the right thing to do. Thanks for the encouragement, it is very kind of you.

I will surely keep in touch.

Hi there. Hope it’s going well on the new journey. I came off a similar drug (diazepam) quite a few weeks ago and was on it long term. I just prepared myself which it sounds like you have too. You will be right in the middle of it now with it having such a long half life (time it takes to metabolise it). I was fine. You will be fine too. Keep in touch. Caroline x

Thank-you, and hello, Chall11.

It is going as well as expected, Like you said, the long half-life has me right in the middle. Today I have the jitters, a little tense with an obvious knot in my stomach and an all over feeling of unease. I can only hope that it doesn't worsen, but I have prepared for the worse and will be much relieved if it levels out. The way I feel at the moment is manageable, keeping my fingers crossed.

I am very relieved to hear that you are fine. Coming off diazepam can be very difficult, I hope you continue to do well. Again, thank-you so much, both for your reply and your support.

Good luck emilee-b, hope you are coping well with the withdrawal and your strategies going forward, i know all too well how challenging it can be and how crazed the T can make you! I've had a sleep sounds app on my phone for years now which has helped me a great deal which I would highly recommend to you if you've haven't already got something of the like? Stay strong! 💪

Thank-you so much, Spk3182luna. Your support is appreciated.

I am coping quite well, so far. My biggest fear at the moment is that I may experience a spike due to coming off the clonazepam. Severe spikes are the reason I took the med in the first place. So far, so good.

Sleep apps work for so many with tinnitus, thankfully. I listen to nature sounds if I am having trouble with sleep. Also, I have a table top fan in my bedroom and for some reason it often works better than the nature sounds.

I will stay strong. ~.~

I am cautiously optimistic, today. This is the 11th day without taking clonazepam and I feel good, dare I say that I even feel a little better than yesterday? Not going to jinx myself, I am doing my best to keep a positive mindset in moving forward.

As far as symptoms go, I am experiencing some digestive issues, resulting in a poor appetite. Some anxiety at moments, also.

Hi good on you for getting off that drug I took it for awhile and decided to get off it because of the side effects. Unfortunately I still take an anti depressant and diazepam occasionally . I have a pretty tough 4 years , with lots of operations on my ear ... I now have a cochlear implant . Let me know how you are going with it all, but you are doing well .

Jenny 😊
