It did make a bit of difference, for me. Don’t expect too much of it as far as the T goes, though.

In my part of the UK the hearing tests and aids, and batteries, are free for the over whatevers, they are state of the art and changed every three years.

Hi hearing aids for me are now a part of me and couldn't live without them it mainly eases my Tinnitus to some days it's only a murmur and when it's loud the white noise helps me through those noisy days my Tinnitus was due to hearing loss since getting Tinnitus you learn to take more care of your ears and look after them .

It makes a big difference . So much so that without the hearing aid it is a lot more intrusive. I was fitted with hearing aids that could switch on a type of white noise that was pitched exactly with my hearing loss. It is useful to calm a spike. I received this through the NHS.

I got the same hearing aids I find the white noise soothing now .

I’ve worn a hearing aid since early February this year for my mild hearing loss in my right ear. This is where I have my perceived BIG T for the last 18 months. It’s a free NHS device and is very easy to wear and get used to and my hearing is definitely better when using it. It has been synchronised for my T sounds with a white noise option to override the perceived sounds when Mr T goes bonkers which happens around every 2 days a week. To be honest the white noise option doesn’t do it for me so I just switch it off. To be honest anything is worth a try. Hope this helps.

Hi, Thanks for your reply,

I did have a ENT appointment in May which was cancelled due to Covid19 now waiting for a new appointment, so I booked a hearing test at Specsavers who said I have moderate hearing loss which could be causing my T. Anyhow, I decided to buy some hearing aids £1695, get them next week so fingers crossed might make my T more bearable, I know it won`t cure it.

I went down exactly the same route as you with 3 hearing tests at different audiologists in a three week period. The results were the same at all three. Mild hearing loss in one ear. I loaned an expensive hearing aid from one hearing centre but returned it a couple of weeks later as it made little or no difference to my T. I realise you are probably searching for solutions to crack the code with tinnitus like I did in the past but this strategy just perpetuates the anxiety and leads to anger and despair. My way of coping is to get some earbuds and play distractive sounds eg waves, birdsongs etc when the T annoys you most and carry on doing the things that make you happy. The Resound App is good for this. All the best and hope you get some solace.
