Anyone ever woke up with extremely loud tinnitus at night that nearly knocked them out of bed?

What on earth causes this? Multiple times since withdrawing from benzos like tapering off them after only using 0.5 mg for two months, I would have more nights where I wake up and tinnitus would be soooooo loud it was almost as loud as fleeting tinnitus so it would be like a siren in my head and I noticed it would stay like that unless i go back to sleep but i dont have anymore sleep aids right now. The doctor only allowed me to be on ativan for 2 months. When I was on the pills , I wouldn't have these super loud scary tinnitus awakenings...does this mean I'm getting worse and going to stay that way? I woke up 3 times this week with super loud tinnitus. Has anyone else been woken up by super loud severe tinnitus?
