Encouraged by the recent Awareness Week, I wrote to my MP, Nigel Huddleston, and have now just received a reply.
In it he states that he's aware of the good work the BTA does in raising awareness. He also states the government is committed to ensuring people with hearing impairments receive the care they need and is encouraged that an action plan has been developed to improve services within the NHS and other public services.
Anyone else had any replies from their MPs?

My letter used the bullet points from the BTA website and gave him a link to the new manifesto. I pointed out that tinnitus doesn't discriminate against age, wealth, location, race or belief. I tried to impress upon him that more money for research will help improve ways of managing this condition and help lead to the ultimate goal of a cure.
If enough MPs get similar letters and they talk to each other (even if it's just by the water cooler) they must realize this is an issue that needs addressing.

Great to hear you had a reply Keoni. We are hoping more people will let us know if they wrote to, and heard from their MPs. Thanks for sharing this.
I got a reply from my guy - Mark Eastwood, Dewsbury (Con).
Pretty standard, just saying he's aware of the issue and will contact Matt Hancock to push for action - whether he does or not I guess I'll never know.
I was a bit miffed that I didn't get a more personal reply from him. I don't know him personally, but loads of my family and friends do - he used to go out with my sister-in-law back in the day and was part of the group of boozers around town that included my brother-in-law and a few mates. I tried to tease him a bit with some of the stories I've heard about him, but he didn't bite.
