Doxycycline induced tinnitus

I am a 38 years old male with a history of hypertension and on tablet nebivolol 5 mg for the last 5-6 months. I developed bilateral meibomitis with dry eyes with bilateral superficial punctate keratitis for which i was started on with tablet doxycycline 100 BD which i took for almost 10 days before a month and then stopped as i recovered, but complaints started again after a month and had to be on tab doxy again which i took for 3 days. On the 4th day had a common cold and i developed severe bilateral tinnitus (continuous high pitch sound ,6 khz , 50 db (frequency matched by an audiologist) and mild hearing loss i felt.

I immediately stopped doxycycline, and consulted ent surgeon. Over the next 27 days till now tinnitus sounds kept on increasing with multiple different sounds of high frequency and a baseline sound, high enough to be heard all times

The external and middle ear seems to be normal, otoscopy -normal, tympanometry-normal, PTA s/o mild sensorineural deafness on a high frequency.MRI angiography:-normal, X-ray PNS-normal

I don't have diabetes mellitus, my hemoglobin is 16gm/dl, my uric acid is 7.5 , I don't smoke, drink or eat nonveg.

For the above complaints i took medicines locally (Deflazocort 24 mg *5days followed by tapering every 5 days, one dose of pulse methyl prednisolone, gingobabiloba, vitamin b12, anxit, Betahistine Tinnex,)

My complaints are persistent and increasing,I can't stay awake, can't sleep because of high pitch sounds.

Don't know what to do, please help me, life has become a hell.

Also tell whether hyperbaric oxygen would help now?

Have you ever checked your Vit B12 levels BEFORE starting B12 supplements? Now you are on them so no use checking that but if you can check your MMA (methyl Melonic Acid serum test) and also your homosystine levels to rule out B12 deficiency. Tinnitus is a big issue with B12 deficiency. I have it and recently diagnosed with B12 deficiency.

When you say your B12 was normal, did you check serum B12 level or did you check MMA and Homosystine? Many times blood test will show normal B12 but that's active and inactive combined so that test is useless if it shows normal and yet you have symptoms. Btw, what are your symptoms?

Ignore that, you have already stated your symptoms. This is brain fog I am going through.
