A way to cope with tinnitus is to focus on other far more important things .... and to relax. Why should going on holiday make it worse??? I have tinnitus 24/7 but have happily travelled to Malawi, Spain, Italy, France, Croatia, Greece, America ...........it's just a nuisance which does cause us much grief but we CAN cope and I think you should give your brain different things to think about. Lecture over. Good luck!

Sound advice Berry, but not everyone can cope as well with severe tinnitus. I don't think I'd be able to go on holiday, as I'd have less to distract me from the constant screeching in my head than I do at work / home. Holidays for me are about relaxing, which I haven't been able to do for the last 3yrs.

I do know what you mean ...and having an empty brain without a project to focus on can be just that .... but my holidays take me exploring and being free in new locations ...new diversions - even just lying on a beach has the sound of the sea is a welcome background noise???????? Soldier on, my friend..........sadly we are all in the same boat, to varying degrees.

Don't let others experiences put you off, every person who has T suffers to different degrees,we had already booked a long haul holiday when I started with T.I was dreading the long flight, but I was worrying about nothing,by the time I had watched a couple of films, eaten the meals and had a snooze we were landing with no change in my T,which ,by the way is a constant high pitched buzzing. Which I've had just over a year, and yes it does drive me to distraction at times, you either let it take over your life or just try and get on with it the best you can. Good luck.

Hi bud I’ve got T really bad and I still travel on holiday and for me flying doesn’t change a thing. If anything the engines on the plane sort of down it out and I even go scuba diving with my ears popping still no difference. Go ahead mate don’t let anyone put you off. Just go for it mate you only get one life don’t let T stand in your way. Good luck and enjoy.
