Hi , I’m Zoë . I’ve had T for the last 5 months . Nov 18th 2018 is when the living hell started . I’m not sure what was the exact cause , but it started in the right ear , then progressed into the head and left ear . I had been recently using ear buds to listen to music , whilst walking the dog, but not on a high volume . Had an ENT app in Feb . She said it was noise trauma that had caused the T and my career in the Ambulance service ( sirens ) hadn’t helped ! So ...... they gave me hearing aids . Tried them out for several days . That’s when everything changed ! I started falling over with loss of balance. Had horrendous vibration run through my head into my face . I felt so sick . This triggered awful anxiety! I’m now living every day with vibration , Hyperacusis and screaming tinnitus .
I was wondering if anyone else had experienced these symptoms and how did they treat them ?
Regards
Zoë

Hi. My T started in a similar way. I had a second attack of cold in a month. Like the night before the symptoms appeared, i heard the T in my left ear. I was watching a drama with earphones at 60 percent volume. I panicked. Like a lot but thought that maybe it will disappear when i wake the in the morning. But it persisted. The doctors said that it maybe due to cold and will be over when i recovered but i never did. The T is still here and it keeps changing tones and i am annoyed and anxious as hell. I’m having my final exams and just cant sleep at night. I hope that it gets better for you. For all of us.
Panicking is the worst thing you can do ! Try and relax ... easier said than done . Breath through your anxiety . Distract yourself from the noise .
I’m preaching to you and all the time , I’m feeling the same ! Remember, we are all together, with this dreadful condition .
I’ve just contacted my health insurance policy , who has told me , tinnitus is covered on their policy . I’ve requested to see A Dr Surentheiron in London , which hopefully my GP will agree too , tomorrow . He is a specialist in ear and balance disorders , so hopefully , il get some guidance with this .
Please stay positive . Talk to your family and friends .
Thank you. Joining this community has been the best thing that I’ve did since my T started. All of your love and support really gets me through the day 💖🙏🤧
I will be thinking of you with your final exams .... please stay positive ! We WILL be cured one day . There are lots of trials out there - The Neuromod trial in Ireland, sounds promising . Xxxx
Unfortunately we are not prescribed Alprazolam in the UK 🇬🇧. I’ve already asked the GP , but he flatly refused and said , the drug was used for our American friends . It’s so frustrating, when a drug helps with this awful condition and you’re denied it !
I’m due to visit the GP ( again ) today and ask to see a neuro- Otologist as soon as poss .
