Three different doctors and I’m afraid none knows what to do. It’s been years and I’ve never spoken to a doctor who specialises in T. WHY ! do have to go private and why, only the last eighteen months has my T got to a point were it’s nearly impossible to live with. Nobody seems to care if I had mental issues then yes mega help every we’re. Over six million people in the uk suffer from T. Is that why the government doesn’t want to know YES cost. So we’ve been sold down the swanny again. I’m going to start a potions on line probably a complete waste of time but I have to try. I’m just an ordinary guy I’ve never done anything like this before ok it might not be perfect but some one has to try. Anyway here go’s

Hi All, six million people suffer from Tinnitus in the UK including myself for me and millions of others it’s pure mental torture. Yes the stress of Tinnitus can and has made many people take their own lives. At the moment there is NO cure and people have two choices live with it or don’t the British Tinnitus Association are doing their very best to look for a cure. Nobody knows if and when this may happen. My point is until then we have to live with this mental torture the government won’t recognise it as a disease they say it comes under a condition I say it comes as mental health. We need help that’s all I ask. Please. My potion on Twitter and online.

I couldn’t have put it better, sadly the only way forward I can see is if prince Charles or Harry Kane ,ant &dec et al, all of a sudden suffer from severe T then you will see things move. How close I was to ending doesn’t bare thinking about it’s a life changer, full stop, not to mention the severe anxiety and depression that automatically comes with it for free!!!! Maybe it’s up to us to find a cure, I will try absolutely anything but paying private just for me only virtually emptied my bank account for nothing in return, good luck with your potion and I hope it works and you become a millionaire plus as a result, because there will be 6 million takers that we know about.

There have been various potions / petitions on the Gov.UK website about tinnitus over time, but there's never any co-ordinated action between various tinnitus groups to ensure everyone pulls in the same direction. So you end up with lots of petitions with a few hundred votes each.

If there was a coordinated effort towards this, including the BTA, the Tinnitus Research Initiative and all the various tinnitus associations around the world, it might stand a better chance of gaining some traction.

You have the right to be angry and let everybody know. I live here in the States and it's the same problem nobody has a clue. I tried everything to get relief. But there's no hope at all. Start your petition and that's all good with it.

I think a lot of the problem is that when people habituate they forget about their t. That certainly is the case for me.

I used to do a monthly standing order to the BTA, but when my t wasn’t a problem again I cancelled it.

I only come on the forum when it’s loud again and I think that’s the same for a lot of us.

We definitely need more research to be done. I would love to hear silence, but until there’s a cure I’ll just plod on till I habituate again. This time it’s the loudest it’s been, but then my hearing is now the worse it’s been.

Having T is as we all know different for each of us.I would not wish this infliction on anyone but lots of us have it famous or not.I wished and hoped it would go but mine is like most here to stay and like many of us I want that cure but I agree without more funding and research it will be a dream of the future.

Theres a lot I don't understand about the cost of hearing aids which have less mecanical technology then a watch, but the companys that sell the hearing aids charge the earth.I have resurched nearly every hearing aid starting at bog standard to high street top of the range to help you hear better with the added extra of support for Tinitus etc.

However I believe all hearing aids could be made much cheaper and our UK government and our MPs etc need to look into why the cost of hearing aids are so high priced . Its a fact Many of us can't afford the so called best due to the price which leaves some of us living a life of silence apart from T

A petition can highlight the problem but writing to all our MPs making it loud and clear that help is needed now as no one knows who T will pick next.

I totally agree. The price of the top end hearing aids is an absolute Outrage. The cheapest mobile phone has far more technology than any hearing aid. So why so much money??? Well that's easy.. GREED!!!

I do believe many country's around the world could support an international joint campaign to encourage more resurch into finding a cure for T.

It's like a vishus circle and to be a little harsh, the lack of interest in funding comes from the lack of awareness to something that can ruin your life.

As I have read many celebrities have similar or the same problems with T and there hearing.

But they need to get together in support of all sufferers of T to push for a international T and hearing loss campaign to bring in more funding across the globe.

We all have seen how quickly things get going when you have big celebrities pushing the government and there fans etc to highlight any issues.

I've not had my T for long but I've learnt very quickly how it can control your everyday life.

Tomorrow I'm back at the hospital I think it's for relaxsation therapy I belive.

Scans, therapy, mindfullness,accupunture anti depresents, hearing test after hearing tests and let's not forget the costs of hearing aids .Ear wax removal ,ear drops and creams plus many different Refurals from GPS etc etc etc all cost money.

However fund a cure would in the end save billions of pounds and give sufferers of T a chance to have some silence.
