I can feel this pulse on my pillow and only on pillow when I’m going to sleep. I went to the ENT on the Friday just been and he said all my tubes were blocked and I was given a nasal spray and tablets but nearly a week on nothings changed and it’s worrying me to death can anyone help?

Hi there Liam, I have pulsatile tinnitus (we are 3%) of tinnitus sufferers.

There are many people who have it and it just goes by itself. This happened to my mother.

Hope this is the case for you.

I have it loud 24/7. 3 years. ENT in Devon useless. One specialist in Sheffield interested.

I have had scans that rule out some things but I am still searching. If you are in the UK Dr Dasgupta in Sheffield (Balance Centre) is the guy who knows most.

I understand how hard it is to cope with mentally but I manage to have a normal life and work and have to ignore it but on the pillow at night it is always most pronounced. Sometimes relieved with change of position. It is your GP's responsibility to refer you to a specialist so you have to find a specialist first and ask to be referred there as GP is too generalist to know! Good luck.

Hi thanks for your reply, I just don’t know what has caused this? I’m currently on day 12 out of 30 of taking a tablet and nasal spray , some days I can feel it on the pillow some days I can’t its like when I’m anxious about things it flares up . If nothing’s changed after the 30 days I’m going to go back to the doctors just hope it goes it did before so fingered crossed

I got the steroid nasal spray for polups. Once my sinus was clear the infection went away and the pulsatile Part of T calmed down. I still am getting all sorts of sounds especially through the pillow. Hyperacusis seems to allow you to pick up distant noises of motors, conducted through dense materials, unlike airborne sound waves.
