Back to work - hearing protection advice

Hi everyone!

I went back to work (yay me!) after 5 weeks off due to my T and other things.

I am actually happy to be back at work as doing nothing all the time is never good in any sense.

The only downside is that it is clear that my work enviroment affects my ears. I check the decibels and it seems okay but I seem to be finding my ears stuffy and also that my hearing isnt as clear.

Is this normal from T? I am causing myself more damage?

What kind of hearing protection is best for this? Keeping in mind I work in retail and my job requires lots of one and one talking and it's important I hear them.

Thank you for any help :)

Hi GERTRUDEANDDAISY,

A Tinnitus specialist recommended to me this company that specialises in noise attenuating ear plugs: hearingprotection.co.uk/

I haven't tried them, and they look to be custom made.

I use 'Apline' earplugs a lot when I'm out and about. They reduce the decibles whilst allowing me to hear people taking etc. They have different filters that can can be added depending on the level of noise reduction required. More about then here:

alpinehearingprotection.co....

They can be purchased at the BTA website (tinnitus.org.uk/pages/shop/... or a from a well known online retailer.

Hope this helps.
