The Holidays are coming soon and I wanted to know if anyone has a hard time being around large crowds, I have horrible time even though I make it work but the holidays are hard for me I can’t hear to well with being deaf in one ear and the noise of people talking and kids playing mixed with tinnitus is not easy so I want to enjoy it so does anyone have any suggestions?

I’m probably the opposite as I enjoy hearing the noise from crowds as it distracts me from my tinnitus. Constant chatter, busy streets and noises from traffic do mean that I need to concentrate on what I’m doing and where I’m going so much that in these times my tinnitus is “silenced” for a period. Never goes away though! Shame we are all different yet have a common problem with our tinnitus. Good luck in finding a solution to this problem for you!
Hi Cali girl,
I live in Sausalito CA which allows me to stay outside at parties. Bring a warm jacket and you will find their are many party goers who also like being outdoors.
You probably have hyperacusis so the echoes from the walls create sound that comes from too many directions. This creates anxiety (resonance acoustically and neurologically)that can spike your T.
Loud noise is not your friend but your friends can follow you into the quite places.
Restaurants require earplugs. That will filter about 30db often enough to make it easier.
Avoid crowded bars and or to much alcohol.
Happy holidays!
