Hi I’m new here and I have had tinnitus since 2010 after 2 head surgery’s... I have tried so many things and it’s really hard to deal with it because I think it’s gotten worse, not just one sound now but many, everything from High pitch whistle’s, people talking, drums, crickets, and something that sounds like my heartbeat. I hope someone can help me

EEEEEEE TINNITUS!!!

hi, im john i had tinnitus for 6 year s and i find nothing help s and that s the bottom line , if you do find anything that help s that s good, but i now except it and got try live with it , if you try too hard to stop it it wont work all you do is get stressed and then it all get s worse, sorry if i sound negative but i find being honest with your self is the only way to try and cope

I realize that now so I will try to block it out as much as I can and thank you for being honest with me because I don’t want to have false hope and I agree being stressed out makes it worse, I’m so glad I found this site at least I know I’m not alone , thank you again
i find not blocking it and just let it do what it want s , try to live with it it s a pain to live with ,i not sure if my advice is right it s just the way i try cope

Agreed - fighting it and trying to block it out only focusses your brain's attention on the sound. Basically by doing that, you are telling your brain 'this sound I'm hearing is really important and I need to be kept constantly informed'. If you just ignore it & don't try to fight against it, your brain eventually gets the message that you don't need to hear it and starts turning it down - that's the theory anyway!
I do believe it’s right and I will learn to live with it .
