Hi I’m new here and I have had tinnitus since 2010 after 2 head surgery’s... I have tried so many things and it’s really hard to deal with it because I think it’s gotten worse, not just one sound now but many, everything from High pitch whistle’s, people talking, drums, crickets, and something that sounds like my heartbeat. I hope someone can help me

I realize that now so I will try to block it out as much as I can and thank you for being honest with me because I don’t want to have false hope and I agree being stressed out makes it worse, I’m so glad I found this site at least I know I’m not alone , thank you again

Agreed - fighting it and trying to block it out only focusses your brain's attention on the sound. Basically by doing that, you are telling your brain 'this sound I'm hearing is really important and I need to be kept constantly informed'. If you just ignore it & don't try to fight against it, your brain eventually gets the message that you don't need to hear it and starts turning it down - that's the theory anyway!

I do believe it’s right and I will learn to live with it .
