Problems with neck..

Can I ask if anyone else has had a stiff neck. I don't have a headache but the muscles at the base of my skull are very tender and tight. I have been having physio but not helping. Thanks.

I have the same problem but use an osteopath with very good results. I do find osteopathy better. Maybe try acupuncture too.

Hi there... yes, is my answer. My T worsened and changed in nature a few months ago, it coincided with a tendency to a stiff neck, although in my case I also started getting headaches.

The doc suggested I was in a cycle of tension headache and to use painkillers regularly for 7 days to break it. I admit I was sceptical, but it did work - 'regularly' being the key to pre-empt the onset of the pain.

The other thing I did was to look at how I was sitting at my computer. As an experiment I made a base to raise my screen about 6 inches, and lowered my seat so that the bottom edge of the screen is just below my eye line, meaning I now look up very slightly in normal use. The difference is subtle, but I don't get neck problems now. It may be worth your while giving it a try for a week or so using a pile of books or magazines?

I also seem to have developed a problem with my jaw joint which it seems, after reading around, is likely to be part of the problem - I'm a habitual tooth grinder.

Oh, and yes, I still have the dreaded T, but it seems to be slowly, ever so slowly, becoming less of a problem. That may be wishful thinking, but fingers crossed. It would be nice to sleep properly again...

Hi. My tinnitus has deteriorated over 5 years . Last year I was diagnosed with Tamworth and on Tuesday with arthritis in the neck. I think these links with my tinnitus - after years of being told it's all in the mind.

Hi,I started having t nearly three weeks ago.but leading up to the t I was getting really sore necks.went to doctor and he said t was to do with wax build up in ears.so had wax removed but t still there..doctor says ear will go back to normal once ear settles down after wax was taken out.o went to see a chiropractor and she says my body is so out of posture that it could be it affecting the tinnitus.i really don't know. Have two chiropractor appointments this week so hopefully that will help. Don't know if what doctor says is right, you would think once the wax was removed t should have went with it

Thank you for reply. I have never had problem with wax in my ears. I am seeing an osteopath who thinks it could be bad posture and spondylitis in neck . Be careful with chiropractors they can be harsh. Good luck hope you get relief .
