I've been thinking about this out of curiosity. All the treatments available seem to involve sound therapy of some kind. Maskers etc. Does anyone know the approach for the deaf.

Tinnitus treatment for the deaf.
It's a bit of a conundrum richard56 - some deaf people benefit from hearing aids and can then use sound but that doesn't resolve the issue for the profoundly deaf. Techniques such as mindfulness and relaxation can of course work whether you are hearing or not, but different approaches can be needed.
We commissioned a report from the Ear Foundation into the needs of members of the deaf community with tinnitus, and it is something we are always mindful of. I don't think there's any easy answers!
Best wishes

I have tinnitus too. I have a profound hearing loss due to meningitis. I find that when I am overly tired, anxious or having a panic attack it is worse. Sometimes it's so loud that I loose focus of what I am doing. It's quite ironic since I'm profoundly deaf that I feel like its loud. It is a ringing or a roaring to me, sometimes swooshing.
