So I've recently posted (see previous post) about experiencing a horrible, constant noise in my ear. I'm trying new things to help mask the noise and I just thought I'd share something I find helps.
try chewing gum, as this generates a sound inside the head ( in the mouth) it generates another sound to listen to instead of the ringing. Just thought I'd share x

Unfortunately thrre is no magic bullet to fire at Tinnitus. I think the best route for you is to see your GP about the psychological aspects of your condition, he may prescribe a sedative such as Amatriptaline which is one of the few medications that helps Tinnitus and restores sleep. Unfortunately it doesn't work for se Tinnitus sufferers.
Best Wishes at least for Christmas and a lucly New Years.
I am already taking amitriptyline as I have fibromyalgia. The doctor told me today that the ear that is ringing is really inflamed, she has given me some ear drops so hopefully it will go, she thinks it will do as I am still young as well. Fingers are crossed! xx
Hello and welcome to the British Tinnitus Association forum. Do feel free to ask any questions, I hope that you find this a helpful and supportive place to help you manage your tinnitus.
It's great that you've found something to help you cope - chewing gum may very well be easing any congestion you have in the interconnected ear, nose and throat system.
