Help to sleep

I just had to say that a little round thing produced by a famous company begging with A, that you use to connect to the internet, has some amazing free sound files that are WONDERFUL for getting to sleep. My favourites are the crackling fire one and the ocean sounds. You can get them to turn off after an hour automatically or loop them all night. Sorry if everyone already knows this, but I'm knocked out by it. There's even whale noises! So easy to connect and all info on internet. Hope this post is OK. I think it might really help some people who aren't brilliant at IT but down with the kids ( ie, my son showed me how to do it!).

Hi Trigger, it sounds great and something I would love to have BUT I have no clue what the product is or even who the company is. I guess there is a no advertising policy on this site but I thought I had seen internet links before.

Sorry to be so cryptic! The adverts are on the TV all the time. If I was to say 'Alexa?'

I'm listening to the fireplace sounds now and can hardly hear the T!!

Happy for you to mention the device, it's great that it's a "side effect" of it!

Just to add that Google Home can do similar. I can just say "Hey Google, play the sound of rain" and it does. Likewise for sound of the sea, a stream etc. Both the Amazon Echo Dot and the Google Home Mini are currently on offer for about £35 (down from £50), so if you wanted one now is the time to get one. They do lots of other useful stuff as well and if you don't know what then look for a review on Youtube.

Thank you TriggerThumb123 . I never knew Alexa could do that!

You are very welcome!! They should ask the BTA and NHS ENTs to mention it somewhere, in exchange for £s!! The beauty of it is the optional loop effect, the simple voice command (for the elderly, esp) and the handy size on the bedside table. I honestly don't work for them!!
