Is it normal to have constant earache with my tinnitus ? It feels constantly blocked aswell !

HI Diane,

No it is not normal to experience these symptoms with tinnitus. Constant earache and blockage in the ear needs to be look at and not left alone. See your GP and if necessary referral to ENT or go into A&E. The auditory system is too delicate to be left alone with what you describe.

Thank you ,went to doctor gave me nasal spray !!!. Lady at chime clinch said I have pressure in my ear have tried steaming but not working .Open to suggestions if anyone has any.

If I were you I would asked to be referred to ENT ASAP or go to A&E

Hi Michael, was reading one of your earlier posts where you said sound enrichment at night can help train the brain at night to help during the day, do you think it may help me even though I sleep quite well ?

Hi 28dinky,

Yes a sound machine acts on the brain and auditory system when you are asleep, providing sound enrichment. A person with tinnitus shouldn't sleep in a quiet room. If they brain hears silence in the night, it has the ability to search for sound, from the outside environment. In doing so it will increase its internal gain at the same time increasing the tinnitus.

Hi. I too have constant earache and told it's just stress of the tinnitus and that's that. Hope you get some help

That's very kind , as all here are. We get by each day - today I've had to work from home coz not up to driving but at least I've still just been able to enjoy one of my fav sounds - the winds in the trees ☺
