Hi . My thoughts are with you , as mine is 24/7 hiss louder than any noise. I do get upset , and tired and as yet haven't manged to find a way of reducing it , but I truly believe it is possible and the posts and lovely people on this forum will have lots of good ideas , and stories. I was going to write success in that they ahve lessened theirs, but think that we are all successful because somehow or other we manage what many people can not even imagine.

Hi. I have had mine for 4 years , it started very quietly and has got progressively worse over the years. I had hearing tests then and MRI which didn't show anything. Unfortunately I had a very bad NHS experience with Hearing therapist , and have paid a lot of money to see other counsellors to help me come to terms with it , and the many stresses in living in 2017 ! Ironically I am happier than ever , not depressed so perhaps it is due to being physically tired ( don't feel it )- don't know. I am scared it is getting worse but try and carry on with my life ,l which is possibly not the best thing in that I am not good at resting or looking after myself . I know others have found a wide range of things useful. From 4 years of trying to understand it ( other than the mechanics ) , I have to admit I find it very bizarre ! There are days when I wonder why , or how I keep going but some inner strength ( or fear of lying in bed with it) gets me to the homeless centre where I still work a bit , and enjoy having a laugh . I wonder if , ironically , now that absolutely nothing masks it even in the slightest , that I am beginning to feel a bit ' free-er' of trying to understand it and get it down . I do think committing to looking after oneself ( in an overall way ) helps - in the past I have health peer mentors who support others living with long term conditions , but when it's myself I am not good at doing what I suggest ! Sorry , I am sure others will be able to be a lot more helpful. Finally ( am working !!) , I just send my best wishes to all of us

Only when I am really really tired through the noise. But I have a friend with meneiraires who experience vertigo and tinnitus, she is on top of both most of the time - but knows an 'intake ' of salt haso an impact on both
