Eureka! After asking recently for advice on taking prednisolone for fibromyalgia, a strange thing happened..........

Two days after receiving your helpful answers, a friend mentioned to a local experienced chiropractor that I was very poorly with thyroid and fibromyalgia problems. That evening the chiro telephoned me and suggested he could help! The next day I was offered a cancellation, and the problems were discussed before treatment. His knowledge of thyroid problems and treatment were extensive----probably because he had trained in the thyroid capital of the World---Chicago! That night I had the best sleep for months, and on waking ALL the fibromyalgia pains had gone---unbelievable. Three weeks later they have not returned, and the sense of well being is great. No wonder Dr Lowe says that patients ranked chiropractic care (along with massage) among the most effective for them. It is no surprise that my 'special' chiro has a 2/3 month waiting list for new patients. My next appt is in 10 days, if there is a cancellation?

I am so glad you have found someone knowledgeable to help you. This is Dr Lowe's C.V. and to think the BTA look down on his experience (so I believe) as they have ignored his Rebuttal completely, thus the suffering continues. His death is a great loss to the Thyroid Communities, as is his Fibroymyalgia Research Foundation,Thyroid Science and Drlowe.com. He gave us free use of all his extensive information.

I hope you are able to get a cancellation.

brooksey, I have never heard of Chicago as the thyroid capital of the world. Do you know why it is labeled as such? I lived there for a year when I was 17. There are some good doctors there and I thought you might enjoy Dr. Edelberg if you aren't familiar with him. He has also worked with a lot FM patients. wholehealthchicago.com/ His book on FM is available as an e-book if you are interested. PR

According to chiro, the drinking water comes from the Great Lakes and is now contaminated with flouride and chloride etc!

As a masseuse and nascent Body Realigner I can appreciate that your chiropractic treatment helped. We do need to look at these things as a whole; a holistic approach. It will not just be our thyroids and adrenals but the way we hold our bodies, the tension in muscles, etc.. These cause misalignment which throws the whole body out and has a compensatory injury pattern. Usually we struggle on without thinking that we are misaligned. Misalignment can cause dis-ease.

My tutor has just learnt to realign bones and I have had this done to me. Hopefully it won't be too long before we are taught this too. We have already learnt scar release techniques. (She has some photos on twitter - Jan Trewartha.)

Massage is calming and helps release those tight muscles and is great but it doesn't fix anything only eases. With Body Realignment I have managed to fix some things permanently.

I'm so glad you were able to get in to see him. Can you share with us what treatment he gave you? Is he treating you only with adjustments or is he, like Dr. Lowe, treating with T3? My muscle problems went away with T3!

After suggesting the importance of doing an iodine test( results back in 4 weeks) he did a manipulation of the spine, with a specific thoracic adjustment. This was followed by manipulation of legs and arms and an adjustment of the jawline from inside the mouth. Finally he addressed the the following areas----the pineal gland, hypothalamus and pituitary glands. I will ask for more information on my next visit!

You will see that I have answered your question in my answer to parafluie above. I will ask the chiro more on my next visit. I forgot to add that I am also taking T3, but I think that the dose may be too small??
