Are all NHS GPs averse to or prevented from doing all the tests, or is there a list of amenable ones?

Some people are finding that although a GP may request blood tests, the lab won't do them due to their budget restraint.

I ended up having blood tests done privately cos at least then I could decide what were most relevant to my condition.

If you are looking for private doctors then here is a link for help on the main site

My GP wants to test t3 and t4 but the lab will only do it if the tsh is out of range. He's requested twice now - think I've dropped on very lucky with him.

It might be worth your doctor writing that he suspects a conversion issue with T4 to T3 on the blood test request form, as this may make them more likely to test. Just a thought... xx
