As my GP doesn't seem to want to up my dosage - would it really hurt to go from 75mg to 100mg a day?

Self medication
Bellini, Barbara has given you the info - please contact your midwife, if you don't want to see that GP you saw again, does your surgery have several doctors. Please let us know how you get on.
Hi Bellini, It's really not a good idea to self-medicate. Get another appointment with a GP, any GP, and show him/her the info that I posted for you yesterday and ask for an increase. Explain that you have been though a great deal of anguish getting pregnant in the first place and you are very concerned that you are not on enough thyroxine yet.
Ask if you can just have a trial increase of thyroxine to stop you worrying, if s/he won't budge then ask for the refusal to be recorded in your notes along with your concerns.
An article on 'normal TSH' is a good one to show docs too. It contains a very descriptive graph of TSH levels and is based on an official study of 65,000 people. See tinyurl.com/yyodja
Good luck!
