Hi, i had a partial thyroidectomy 4 years ago due a golf ball lump growing on the left side of the thyroid. Once it was removed i was diagnosed with hypothyroidisim and Hashimoto's!! I actually had never heard of either before this, so it all was a complete shock. I have battled with many symptoms throughout the years since, one of which was excessive weight gain, but FINALLY, my levels are ok and i have recently lost 5 stone!! I feel better, have energy to last the day, but by 9pm i am usually snoring my head off!!
Good luck with the outcome, i will look forward to your reply.
i , my experience as been some what annoying to say the least, i had a total removel of my thyroid gland due to cancer. The op was done sept 09 and went fine. only in hospital overnight. Getting my levels right is another matter. I am thyroid surpression which means they keep your TSH levels below 1. Im taking 175 of levothyroxine and still dont feel right. i work full time so its tough at times... my GP is not very sympathtic to us thyroid suffers...
