Hey guys just here asking a question, does it matter which one to take? As you can see Tapazol is $121 and Tiarotec is $16 which is more cheaper (which I'm hoping I can get lol)

The pharmacist told me they both would work the same since it's just a different brand but my doc said to buy Tapazol no reason given but kinda hurts my pocket esp I'm not getting paid until ending of the month 😭 but if I have to buy whichever - nimodos.

Hello thanks for your reply, I got the cheaper one will try it out in a few since it's almost time to drink it. Yes he said if the medication doesn't work by the end of this month we will have to look into doing another RAI but I'm not doing it again for sure. I do want to check my vitamin levels but wow wow it's so expensive here and my country don't do medical insurance unless you're willing to pay half of your salary towards it. But I'm planning to go see the doctor in Guatemala ending of this month and will see if it's cheaper there. One thing I find frustrating is that when I ask the doctor if I can take vitamins he always says no not yet I don't recommend it or that the RAI had vitamins so it's best to wait. Everytime I bring up the topic of vitamins he immediately cut me off.

I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism since I was like 15-16. I was given the RAI for the hypothyroidism in 2023. In 2024 he told me that my thyroid levels were all clear and that the RAI worked. In January we did a virtual meeting and he said my TSH was high and he gave me the levothyroxine 50 mcg. After drinking the levothyroxine I started with the symptoms that I explain on my previous post and he asked me to do another test and saw that my TSH levels dropped too low so he gave me propranolol 2.5 mg twice a day and Tapazol 5 mg twice a day for a month. I still have some bloating but mostly in the night, my heart rate feels way better. Praying for a good outcome by the ending of this month. πŸ™πŸ½πŸ€žπŸ½

So it looks like the RAI didnt work as you are hyperthyroid currently.

The doctor told me it did a year after doing RAI SO I'm not sure as to why everything spiralled after taking levothyroxine. Me and my husband do strongly believe it's the medication that triggered something rather than the RAI not working but who knows. I do want to get a second opinion
