Increased anxiety for me signals that my thyroid meds are not optimal or key vitamins (folate, ferritin, B12 or VitD) may need adjusting. Have you had these tested recently?

Can you share your most recent thyroid results Margjeans for members to advise if it’s possible to optimise them?

Gone back to Eutroxsig ,am 88 and in Aged care with my husband. Was on 75 Eutroxsig for years for years and changed to Eltroxine,a few years back, never really felt well on it. Now got burning legs, was taking 50 mg Eutroxsig all last week ,this morning I have taking 75 mg. Which I took for years. My legs are feeling better now,I don’t think I was taking enough.. I haven’t got results from Doc. Will ask for them when I go to docs,in meantime I’m going to take 75 Eutroxsig one day and 50 the next and see how I go. Went to cardiologist,a couple of weeks ago,was getting chest pains when I took 75 Eltroxine. My heart is good and strong . I do have a lot of stress worrying about my husband. Hope I don’t get chest pains back. I only weigh 47 kilos, lost a lot of weight in the last 12 years.Have got high blood pressure but all the medication has too many side effects for me,I know I’m getting to my use by date but have always been fit. Hope I don’t get more anxiety,I wake up with it.

Eltroxin (which, in Australia and most of the world except the UK, is Aspen product) is not interchangeable with other makes.

state that Eltroxin is not interchangeable with the equivalent strengths of the other three levothyroxine brands (Eutroxsig, Levoxine and Oroxine) on a dose-to-dose basis and dose titration (adjustment)3,5 may be required.

Did your prescriber take this into account?

Forum advice is to remain on a consistent dose of thyroid medication for 6-8 weeks before retesting levels. Do share these with us when you have them. Also include ranges, as these can vary between laboratories.
