Ive been trying to find a pharmacy local to me that has this brand....last resort that it may be the one brand that doesnt give me hives or gut problems.
Boots told me they dont stock it.... ever..... but I thought Boots was Alliance ??
So far local small Pharma said no immediately, and got the hump when I asked her if she would mind checking to Supplier/Code/Brand on her system.......she just couldnt be bothered, got agitated and couldnt wait to get off the phone , so so frustrating.
I explained I didnt want a prescription to be sent to her with Vencamil 50mcg Aristo on it if she cant get it in. She said we just give you what weve got, and "whats the problem"........aaahhh exhausting.
She then found it and said "oh its really cheap, but I cant order it for you, we just get whatever comes".......
Do they just make this stuff up, or are their hands really tied?
Every best wish, G

PS recommend shopping around for an independent pharmacy that will order it in for you. They should do this as routine. Most won’t keep it on the shelf.
Actually the image was for me. One Pharmacy in the past dispensed my prescription and punched out the tablets into a little bottle (it was a private script for T3 supposedly Henning) so i declined them saying I wanted to see the box with the Butterfly image, info leaflet, excipients etc and he declined, so I walked out, and forfeited my script....expensive day.
The MHRA approves all packaging and labelling information for medicines sold in the UK including the information that must be provided. Medicines must include a patient information leaflet (PIL) if the label does not contain all the necessary information.
Not "can", "should", "would be a good idea", nor "if asked for". No, they use the word "MUST".
I get my Vencamil from my local ex-Lloyds pharmacy. It hasn't been straightforward - but more because I'm finding it difficult to get the GP surgery/prescriber to do what is needed. The pharmacy can now see the products available to order - from the nearest Alliance distribution warehouse.
Ok thank you Helvella, i will try my old Lloyds now Pyramid I think, its so variable with different daily locums, some are delightful and willing to help many are just not interested in even looking up a request.
Hi I too had this trouble with local pharmacies took a few times to get the right wording on the script too. I emailed Aristo for code👍 rang around the area to find a pharmacy who could help 4 pharmacies later I now travel to a town 8 miles away as one there were very helpful now my prescribed pharmacy. Shamefully it takes a lot of effort just to get sorted. Good luck with yours 👍
Thank you for taking the time to reply. Yes they dont make it easy . In my current state it needs to be pretty close by otherwise I would gave to ask someone to collect.
hello.Yes it’s really difficult to locate Vencamil. And sorry you had such a poor response from Boots. Most doctors have a pharmacist on site and I asked them for help to locate a pharmacy that could get Vencamil .I did look all over my local area as well.Another issue is how the doctor prescribes on the prescription .They need to prescribe the product not the medication type. I had a pharmacy refuse to issue Vencamil because the doctor had also put Levothyroxin on the prescription.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. Thats a good idea I think my GP may have a pharmacist on board too........ I dont trouble them with anything else these days.
Yes I remember a previous post stating to put Vencamil not levothyroxine. And I will also try a smaller Pharmacy.
