Firstly thanks to everyone for the advice given last week, I as advised have repeatedly tried to get follow up bloods after 9 weeks on 25mcg levo, I have been ignored told you can have your bloods done at the end of Oct, eventually after saying no I want an appointment I was told I could have a phone consultation, so I arranged for childcare this morning waiting for my appt which said it was 9am this morning, then at 10.30 I rang and said I havnt been phoned, I was told 9am isn't your appt it's just a guide your on the list someone will phone you. I was then rang 45 minutes later and told the Dr wasn't in and now I had to wait for a call on Saturday sometime 🤷 so once again just been fobbed off so unhappy about it

Be ready to quote NHS guidelines

Your TSH was 31 at diagnosis

Clearly hypothyroid and your obviously quite young if have young children

nhs.uk/medicines/levothyrox...

Adults usually start with a dose between 50 micrograms and 100 micrograms taken once a day. This may be increased gradually over a few weeks to between 100 micrograms and 200 micrograms taken once a day.

politely insist on blood test next week

Book early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Request that vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 are also tested

And request new prescription for an increase in levothyroxine to 50mcg daily

If GP won’t agree

Get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing privately

Reread my replies on your previous post

Suggest you get private test to see how bad thyroid levels and vitamin levels are at moment

You can then at least start improving low vitamin levels by supplementing

This will help reduce symptoms

Assuming thyroid results show you are on inadequate dose

Email/post copy of test results to GP and book consultation to get dose increase to 50mcg

If GP remains obtuse make an appointment to see thyroid specialist endocrinologist

They will then write to GP to instruct them on how to manage your dose and testing

Basically

You should have been started on 50mcg levothyroxine

vitamin levels tested alongside coeliac blood test at diagnosis

Bloods retested 6-8 weeks after each 25mcg increase in Levo until

A) symptoms diminish

B) blood tests are stable typically Ft4 and Ft3 at least 60-70% through range

All four vitamins tested at least annually and maintain at optimal levels

Not what you're looking for?
