Erm…just received a “cortisol testing kit” and it says to chew on a swab (using a new swab each time at times as specified by doctor) and then put it into the sample pot (salivette). Never done anything like this before… is this how it’s usually done?

Much easier than you’d think!
Then again, I’ve never came across this swab stuff. Usually it’s spit,
Thanks, HSD. it says - chew on the swab, allowing it to absorb your saliva…
Sounds like you have a different kind of test. Which company is it?
Inuvi
Ah. I have no idea then. Maybe wait for others to respond.
I’d rather just spit into a pot!
You THINK you’d rather spit in a pot, unless you’re one of us with very little spit and can’t fill it up. I had two false starts before I realized how hard it would be to get the vial filled up. I’d much rather chew on a swab!
Hey JoJo, yes I've done this one. They taste a bit weird! Haha and you can't drink water before so your mouth feels really dry afterwards
Yes, easier than collecting pee for 24 hrs and lugging bottle back to surgery discreetly!
Have had insulin stress tests to measure my cortisol. Horrid, so would much prefer the chewing option! Is this through your GP then?
Ah shame, was hoping for a second there. All the best with the results and that the swabs aren’t too bad to chew on.
Mine was included in a recent blood test - I bet you'll all now tell me that's inaccurate or something.
