Why might it be something else?

With Hashimoto's levels of antibodies change almost daily. Sometimes they will be higher than others depending on if your thyroid has been attacked recently and by how much. It doesnt really mean anything as far as treatment goes or your health condition as you are already treated.

Antibodies often slowly reduce

A) when adequately treated on replacement thyroid hormones

TSH always below 2 and with Hashimoto’s often necessary to be on high enough dose for TSH to be below 1

on just levothyroxine Ft4 likely to need to be at least 70% through range - testing with last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

B) many members find strictly gluten free diet may slowly reduce TPO antibodies

Dairy Free may also help

Hello my tsh level is 3

was this TSH test done on Aug 13th?

Looking at previous posts you have not long reduced dose from 75mcg to 50mcg

In ideal world never reduce dose without getting FULL thyroid and vitamin testing

TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested together and optimal vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin

As explained in previous post, that’s likely too much of a reduction

Reducing to 50mcg 2 days a week and 75mcg 5 days may have been enough

You need to retest 6-8 weeks after any dose or brand change in Levo

Testing privately if necessary

Reducing dose, even by tiny amount (eg by only 50mcg PER WEEK) can cause noticeable symptoms

you have been told by GP to reduce by 25mcg per day - that’s 175mcg reduction per WEEK

if your TSH is now 3 already this indicates you very likely need dose increase

Suggest you push to reinstate 75mcg 5 days per week and 50mcg 2 days

Retest 6-8 weeks later

Antibody levels fluctuate all the time, and it's irrelevant. Antibodies don't cause symptoms or make you feel anything, so the fact that you still don't feel well has nothing to do with them, whether they're high or low.

On the other hand, a TSH of 3 means that you are still hypo, so that's what's making you feel unwell. Not the TSH itself, but the low thyroid hormone levels it is indicating. If you can, it would be a good idea to get full thyroid testing to see exactly where you are. :)

I have been reading all the symptoms of Graves’ disease was wondering if I could have that ?

With a TSH of 3? Absolutely not. Your TSH would be so low it would be unreadable. And your antibodies are Hashi's antibodies.

The problem with reading about symptoms in on-line articles is that they tend to draw a rigid line dividing hypo symptoms and hyper symptoms. But, in reality, it's not like that. So many symptoms cross over. Doctors do the same. They say hypos all - put on weight, are intolerant to cold, have low blood pressure, etc. And hypers all - lose weight, are intolerant to heat, have high blood pressure, etc. But you can have hypers that put on weight, and hypos that have high blood pressure. You cannot tell simply by symptoms which you have. That is why we have to do blood tests, to back up the symptoms - or not;

Not what you're looking for?
