It's very expensive compared to T3 and T4 and doesn't suit everyone
Have you bought yourself some good supplements for your vits and mins?
It was only 18 days ago you posted with results showing low Vit D, B12 and folate
Yes taking Folate and vit D 😁
Time to add some B12 🤗
You should ideally have started on B12 daily supplements a week BEFORE starting on folate
Has GP prescribed folic acid or did you buy methyl folate supplement?
Bought Folate myself 😀
So start slowly swapping just folate for a vitamin B complex
Initially folate on its own 4 days a week and vitamin B complex 3 days
Which folate are you taking
Recommend Jarrow Methyl folate 400mcg
supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid)
This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too
Difference between folate and folic acid

B vitamins best taken after breakfast
Igennus B complex popular option. Nice small tablets. Most people only find they need one per day. But a few people find it’s not high enough dose

Thorne Basic B recommended vitamin B complex that contains folate, but they are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule) Thorne can be difficult to find at reasonable price, should be around £20-£25. iherb.com often have in stock. Or try ebay
IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 5-7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12
once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), you may be able to reduce then stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.
Highly effective B12 drops

If Vegetarian or vegan likely to need ongoing separate B12 few times a week
Post discussing how biotin can affect test results and why you should stop before testing
Thanks for the indepth explanation slow dragon 😀I am taking together health 400 mcg folate.
I have ordered from Germany ( don't ask me why, it came up on Google search ? Vitamin B12 MH3A® + Folic Acid 1000µg + 400µ from Sunday Natural.
Here is the description of the B12 complex -Each lozenge offers 1000µg of vitamin B12 from our MH3A® formula (providing a total of five B12 active ingredients) and 400µg of our bioactive folic acid complex (L-methylfolate from Quatrefolic® + Magnafolate® Pro), as well as a natural folate complex from lemon peel cultivated without the use of plant protection products. To answer the original question, where I get my NDT from Thailand it costs £155 for 500, so around 31p per pill. So the total cost depends on how many you take a day. For me the improvement in my health is worth it, but it does not suit everyone.
PM me if you want the place I order from. Delivery takes around 10 days.
Its not been long since you added vitamin supplements so I would give it a few months on those, restest vitamins and then many find that just adding some T3 is effective and also an awful lot cheaper and easier than trying NDT. Just saying.
Thank you that is good advice. Will GP prescribe T3 or do you have to source it elsewhere?
It is available through the NHS but can be a postcode lottery as to which Endo's and their opinions are in your area and local policy. It does have to be an Endo so you would need a GP referral to one. GP cannot prescribe T3.
You have a few options other than NHS including emailing info@thyroiduk.org for a list of T3 friendly Endo's. Start a new post asking for feedback on one or 2 of them with replies by personal message only.
Roseway Labs offer a prescribing service at reasonable cost.
Self sourcing T3.
