Cost would be the first thing to spring to mind, also the dose sizes available are different and then the excipients.
Why do you ask?
I see, do you know which is better and do roseway provide both do you know? My t3 is low and tsh is high. Many thanks
Mainly for cost reasons most people prescribed T3 privately opt for Thybon-Henning 20mcgs tablets at around 60-70p per tablet and they quarter or halve them depending on their dose.
Roseway should be able to offer both but ask for a quote first. They often like to dispense their own brand compounded T3 so if you have a preference do make it clear.
Either brand is usually well tolerated.
As Jaydee1507 says, cost will be a major factor.
There is a technical difference between Thybon Henning and (to the best of my knowledge) ALL other liothyronine products. Thybon Henning uses liothyronine hydrochloride as its active ingredient whereas all others use liothyronine sodium. However, many have switched without really noticing much difference.
Also, Sigmapharm is available in 5, 10 and 20 microgram dosages whereas Thybon Henning is 20 microgram only.
That is very interesting. Would you happen to know what the difference is between the Hydrochloride one and the Sodium one? I am just curious whether one is more easily absorbed than the other and I can see hours of research in front of me to try to find out because that's my nature. Please, try to save me from myself, on this one. 😂😂😂 Many thanks.
