Hi Margo hope you are well, I don’t have an answer to your post but I have Graves’ disease just finished block and replace and I would be interested in hearing from anyone else who can advise on vitamins and supplements to your question.

I think in the holistic and alternative treatment option section within Elaine Moore's website there is mention of these - elaine-moore.com

There are dozens, probably hundreds, of non-hormone products for hypothyroidism.

The majority end up containing iodine, L-tyrosine, Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) or some combination of some or all and possibly many other ingredients.

However, I am extremely sceptical of them. I suspect the formulation of quite a number are based on marketing rather than proved efficacy. And we have seen very mixed reports from those who have tried Ashwagandha.

All the things classed as adaptogens have a tendency to be looked on as being all things to all people.

The emphasis on non-toxic is disturbing to me. If anything really has an impact, that impact could be in the wrong direction for you. Does that make it toxic?

Hmmmmm interesting response thank you! However, who do you trust? Sadly after the last 4 years certainly not big pharma', in regards to them I go in the opposite direction. I will keep looking for alternatives, and would be interested if anyone has had a good result using tinctures and the like.

I've no idea - especially since reading Helvella's reply to you :

I don't know - but I didn't get a notification that you had replied to me - sorry - yesterday I had 2 error codes and couldn't write anything - though this has now been rectified -

but pressed many things yesterday so maybe I've turned off ' pings ' - no idea - but will undo what I think I thought I did !!!
