Carbimazole - periods

sorry to bother again and talk about unpleasantness but … is my period that’s lasting forever to do with Carbimazole? Ie I noticed since graves my periods became lighter (I was so grateful because after another trauma some years previous the blood loss monthly was horrendous) but now they seem to be ebbing back to that ie 7 day long periods … ?

anyone else on Carbimazole had longer heavier periods??

if this is yet another side affect I’d be tempted to rip my damn womb out myself tbh 😤

your previous two posts suggest you need to reduce Carbimazole a bit

Low thyroid hormone levels tends to result in heavier periods

Keep an eye on iron and ferritin levels too

Thanks slowdragon I was hoping it was a side affect rather than too high dose again but most things I’m experiencing seem to point in that direction although consultant seemed to think this shouldn’t be an issue - coz obviously if my T4 was 11 and in range I’d only experience symptoms of being low the next day when it’s 10.5 and just out range 😂 … anyway I’ve not long lowered it to 2.5mg daily, do you think that will just take a little while to ‘kick in’? I seem to be quite sensitive to this stuff and getting paranoid about messing with the dosage 🤷‍♀️😔

It takes several weeks yes …..retest again after 6-8 weeks

Looking for Ft4 and Ft3 at least 50% through range minimum

Your Ft4 at last test was far too low
