I'm posting this - a screenshot from twitter - under the excuse that he is a patron of Thyroid UK!

And we all need a little bit of amusement when the opportunity arises. :-)

I wonder what Thyroid Binding Goblins look like. Maybe AI could draw us a pic?

Sorry , forgot to provide a reference to support my goblin comment : britishfairies.wordpress.co...

"As Jennifer Westwood commented in The Lore of the Land, “the distinction between bogey beasts and hobgoblins is blurred.” This uncertainty is made worse by the shape-shifting ability of most bogies, making it hard for us to determine what the ‘natural’ shape of any particular type ought to be. They can appear as humans, as a range of animals or, in fact, as almost any object they choose (the Glassensikes bogie found near Darlington is a good example of this, being seen as a white rabbit and a black dog and many points in between). Alternatively, the creature may simply grow in size, as the Frandley Boggart in Cheshire was wont to do, silently swelling from a small man of just four feet in height to a giant. Another quality the bogles have in common may be the fact that they make noises as part of their strategy to scare us. An example of this was the boggle of Lowther Castle in Westmorland, which prevented people and beasts sleeping. One interpretation of the name Tankerabogus/ Tantarabogus is, simply, the ‘noisy bogie.’ What’s more, the boggle of Lowther Castle was never actually seen- perhaps adding to the terror it engendered."

Ah, could that be why our medics don't recognise patients with thyroid issues?

their training is woefully inadequate... S.P. has taught them all to look for hysterical witches ... when they really ought to be learning more about bogies and goblins

Exactly that! (Thanks for making me smile on yet another dreary wet day).

I did exactly that and received two images:

AI-generated Thyroid Binding Goblins

Hmm, they just look like regular goblins to me. There surely must be something specific to identify the Thyroid Binding Goblins, to prove that 'These are not just any goblins, these are Thyroid Binding Goblins' :)

You are quite obviously more intelligent than AI...

Do you think there are M&S Goblins... ??? :-)

There may indeed be. But that's going way off topic...

He is a treasure. My former class - named after the great man - would fall about laughing themselves silly on the rare occasion I found time in the bonkers-curriculum (& after checking that the coast was clear of leadership) and played them ‘Chocolate Cake’, performed by him.
