Hashi symptoms still or tired/dry eyes?

Hey everyone,

Still on my journey to "optimal" health and lab's whilst having Hashimoto's. Diagnosed 18 month ago.

I have a strange one for you, or, not so strange, right now I'm not sure.

So, currently on 162.5mcg of Levo and 10 mcg of Lio.

I would say symptom wise I am feeling the best I have in a long time. But I have this one lingering issue which I can't decide if it's still a symptom of my Hashimoto's or now an eye issue.

I've been feeling as if I am tired all the time. Even upon waking from a good 8-10 hour sleep, I still haven't been feeling fresh and awake. I come to work, when I am talking to people I am having to blink and fight back me just shutting my eyes mid conversation and it doesn't really go away either. I get home and still feel the same.

I don't feel fatigued, confused or have brain fog...just like I am really tired all the time.

Could it be that I now have an eye issue and it's playing tricks on me and been making me think it's my Hashimoto's? Around 6 months ago I went from more a physical job to sat behind a computer most of the day just for some context. I also haven't had my eyes check in like 10 years.

Has anyone else experienced this and is it time to go get my eyes tested to rule it out? ( I already know the answer haha )

Thank you

26 days ago you were only on 175mcg Levo?

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Adding T3 ….initially this often makes people feel very, very tired

Did you initially only add 5mcg

Retest thyroid levels 6-8 weeks after being on 10mcg T3

Hey,

Yep that's correct. I was originally on 175 levo only.

I then added in 5mcg of T3 for 2 weeks. I did not have any adverse reaction to the 5mcg of T3 so I went up to 10mcg which where I have stayed at for 2 weeks now. I also decided to ever so slightly drop the T4 when I added the slight increase in T3.

I didn't realise some could feel tired when introducing T3, why is that?

Thank you

I don’t think we know why

Possibly cortisol levels adjusting

It should improve

I initially found it virtually impossible to keep my eyes open after afternoon dose T3

you could also have thyroid eye disease. It’s not exclusive to Graves’ disease

Ask optician to check your eyes, and how your eyelids shut

You might benefit from eye drops or eye ointment…..especially at night
