Scalp problems on too low dose?

I suspect that my wet dandruff problem is because I'm under medicated. Anyone who had this problem and it resolved when properly treated?

I always have this problem when my Levo isn't high enough. When I increase it goes away.

Me too! How soon does it go away for you after an increase?

2-3 months perhaps…..assuming when you increase to 100mcg that’s high enough dose

My scalp psoriasis is improving since starting treatment. Hoping when I’m on the right dose it completely goes away.

I've found it improves on a low histamine diet. I see it as an indicator of how much internal inflammation I currently have. Fish oil tablets and turmeric help reduce inflammation. But its still an autoimmune illness so will never be 'cured'

Cured or not, I remain hopeful that as with many symptoms this too will run for the hills once the right dose.

Its quite likely that you might be under medicated. What dose of Levo are you on?

Also we get low vitamin levels when we are hypo as it causes low stomach acid. This means that we cannot absorb vitamin from our food very well.

Do you have a copy of your latest blood results that you can share with us? You are legally entitled to a printed copy of your results, ask at GP reception. In England you can get the NHS app and ask for permission to see your blood results on that by asking at GP’s reception.

When hypo we get low stomach acid which means we cannot absorb vitamins well from our food, regardless of a great diet. For thyroid hormone to work well we need OPTIMAL levels of vitamins. Have you recently or could you ask your GP to test levels of ferritin, folate, B12 & D3? Private tests are available, see link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost.thyroiduk.org/testing/priva...

There is also a new company offering walk in (includes free blood draw) & mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...

Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.

reception.

It's ideal if you can always get the same brand of levo at every prescription. You can do this by getting GP to write the brand you prefer in the first line of the prescription. Many people find that different brands are not interchangeable.

Always take Levo on an empty stomach an hour away from food or caffeine containing drinks & other meds. Many people find taking it at bedtime works well for them.

Gosh! I am looking forward to that. I still wake up in agony with itching of both the scalp and skin.

Camelias I had terrible itchy scalp and did not realize it was linked. It has calmed down now since I upped my dosage to 200, I was on 150 Levo. Also the vit D and B12 and other vitamins I am are starting to make a difference. I made the changes about 3/4 weeks now and first I felt worse the first 2 weeks but feeling a good bit better. Oh man Doctors, I hope to get an appointment tomorrow we can only get an appt by ringing on the morning, so hopefully I will get one.
